PDG Norm McDaniel has been a member of the Ventura Downtown Lions Club since 1982, He has held many offices in the club, chaired and served on numerous committees, and served as President in 1994-1995. Norm served as 4-A3 District Governor in 2017-2018.
Norm has attended several USA/Canada Leadership Forums and Leadership Institutes and graduated from the Lions Faculty Development Institute (FDI) and Lions Certified Instructor Program (LCIP), the highest LCI instructor program.
Norm has been an instructor at numerous Leadership Institutes in California and a presenter at USA/Canada Forum. He served as the MD-4 Global Leadership Team Coordinator for the state 2018-2023. At the International level Norm served as one of 36 Group Leaders worldwide for the in-coming District Governors for 2023-2024.
Norm has received numerous awards including a Melvin Jones Fellow, a Kay K. Fukushima Fellow, Harry J. Aslan Fellow, Dwight E. Stanford Fellow, several International President’s Certificates, an International Presidents Award, and an Internation-al Presidents Medal. He is also the recipient of an Excellence Medal from MD-4 and has been chosen twice as Lion of the Year for his club.
In addition, Norm is very active in community and professional organizations. He was a founding member of the National Police Dog Foundation, a Director for the Ventura Trade Club, Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Association of Realtors. He has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and served proudly in the US Army.
Norm currently owns and manages a real estate and property management company with his wife, Lion Cyndee. They have one daughter and a granddaughter and grandson.
